Four-star Texas quarterback commit Shane Buechele's best sport is football. He finished as the second-ranked quarterback at the Elite 11 last week in Oregon, making Longhorn fans justifiably excited with his performance.
But baseball remains in Buechele's blood. His father, Steve, played 11 major league seasons and is currently the bench coach of the Texas Rangers. The younger Buechele is a talent on the diamond himself, and apparently will attempt to continue his baseball career at the next level.
According to Ryan Autullo of The Austin American-Statesman, Buechele is planning to play both sports at UT.

We'll see if Buechele's plans ultimately end up coming to fruition. If he does play both sports, he'll make many Texas fans recall Shea Morenz, who started 19 games at quarterback for the Longhorns during the 1993 and 1994 seasons before being selected by the New York Yankees in the first round of the 1995 MLB Draft as an outfielder.
