Texas incoming freshman running back Derrian Brown has been hospitalized following a medical situation, his high school confirmed on Twitter this afternoon.

Brown attends Buford (Ga.) High School. He committed to Texas in September and signed with the Longhorns in December.

Details surrounding Brown's condition are scarce. According to a statement from Buford, his family has asked for no visitors at the hospital.

Situations like this are always scary, especially when there isn't much info for the public to go on. Hopefully, Brown is on his way to recovering and a positive update will be provided soon.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family. May he get well soon.

On the field, Brown is a four-star prospect and the No. 12 running back in the 2019 class, according to 247Sports' Composite Rankings.

Texas' 2019 class currently ranks third nationally.
