Saturday will be Jalen Hurts’ first and only Red River Showdown experience. Hurts is new to the rivalry, but said this week that his time at Alabama should help him be prepared for such a high-stakes contest.
Texas defensive back BJ Foster disagrees. Foster told OrangeBloods.com’s Anwar Richardson today that Hurts is about to experience something totally different this weekend.
Foster said football is “more physical” at UT and added that the rivalry with Oklahoma is better than Alabama-Auburn.
Texas DB BJ Foster on Oklahoma QB Jalen Hurts saying he played in the Iron Bowl and other big games at Alabama: "It’s very different. This is Texas. Texas is different. Football is more physical at Texas. The Red River Showdown is way better."

Certainly, plenty of Crimson Tide and Tiger fans will disagree with this take. In fact, their disapproval of Foster’s quotes might be one of the few things ‘Bama and Auburn fans can agree on.
Overall, Hurts shouldn’t be fazed by facing the Longhorns on Saturday. Like he said, he’s played in big games and hostile environments before.
Every rivalry is unique though, so it will be interesting to hear what Hurts has to say after the game.
Texas and Oklahoma will kick off at noon ET Saturday from the Cotton Bowl. FOX will broadcast the game.
