Arch Manning's recruitment tour continued with a trip to Texas that reportedly went well.

The highly regarded high school quarterback visited the Longhorns campus over the weekend. They brought in some reinforcements, as formeralums and current NFL passers Colt McCoy and Sam Ehlinger returned to Austin.

On the " target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">State of Recruiting podcast, via Brad Crawford of 247Sports, Horns247 recruiting editor Mike Roach said there's a "tonal shift" in optimism about Texas' standing in the Manning sweepstakes.

"I think they’ve done a fantastic job there. I think they keep needing to show him just fit and all those sorts of things, and I think they need to let (the city of) Austin kind of take over. Arch does really love Austin and all the things there are to do there. Let Austin stand on its own. And it sounds like they kind of accomplished all those things this weekend."

To Roach's point, On3 Recruits now pegs Texas as favorites to land the five-star prospect from New Orleans.

The prior weekend, Manning and his father, Cooper, were reportedly impressed by watching Kirby Smart lead spring practices at Georgia. And as noted by Rivals, the 18-year-old recently joined Twitter and followed the Bulldogs head coach, as well as Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian.

Given his family lineage and positioning as 247Sports' top prospect from the 2023 class, Manning's recruitment is drawing heightened buzz that will likely magnify leading up to his decision.
