Texas defensive coordinator Todd Orlando may want to dial it back a little bit.
Orlando, whose Longhorns defense was torched to the tune of 51 points in the team's season opening loss to Maryland, was probably already feeling some heat this week.
That is before he said that the upcoming game against San Jose State would prove that the team has "the grit to win a championship."
Orlando is getting trashed on Twitter after that line.
It hasn't been a great week of quotes from Texas's coaches. Tom Herman caught some heat from his old boss Urban Meyer for saying that he couldn't "rub pixie dust" on the roster that he inherited. Now, Orlando is making San Jose State out to be a semifinalist in some sort of Moral Victory College Football Playoff. He might've been better off calling his players "champions of life."
