Texas vs. Texas Tech preview:

The Longhorns (4-4) enter the contest off of a huge win over Baylor last week 35-34. The win spoiled Baylor's perfect start to the season. Texas Tech (4-4) enters the game on winning ways as well as it knocked off TCU 27-24 last Saturday.

The Red Raiders gave up 418 yards to the Horned Frogs while only putting up 345 yards of their own, but found a way to win in double overtime. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes II went 24-for-39 through the air for 206 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

Texas gave up a whopping 624 yards to Baylor last week, but were able to move the ball as well with 548 yards. It was a balanced attack for the Longhorns against Baylor with 257 rushing yards and 291 passing yards.

Texas lost to Texas Tech a year ago in Austin by the score of 48-45.

Texas vs. Texas Tech Prediction:

Texas has had a completely up and down season and seemingly got its biggest win of the year last week over Baylor.

Mahomes II leads the nation in passing yards with 3,519 on the season. Texas' pass defense ranks 95th in the nation which isn't great for Texas' odds. With that being said, Texas Tech's defense is one of the worst in the country rankings 126 out of 128 FBS teams and Texas will expose the Red Raiders' horrid defense.
