Despite losing to LSU in week three, Texas controls its own destiny. A one-loss Big 12 champ has a very good shot to reach the College Football Playoff. The Longhorns must take care of business on Saturday though to have a chance.
In recent years, West Virginia has given Texas a whole lot of trouble. The Mountaineers have won three of the last four games against the Longhorns including last year’s 42-41 thriller.
Texas heads into this contest with a 3-1 record with wins over Oklahoma State, Rice and Louisiana Tech. The Longhorns’ lone loss came against LSU.
WVU is also 3-1. The Mountaineers have beaten NC State, Kansas and James Madison including a loss to Missouri in week three.
Here’s all the details for Saturday’s game:
Game Time: 3:30 p.m. ET
Spread: Texas -10
Announcers: Steve Levy, Brian Griese, Todd McShay
Texas is a 10-point favorite over West Virginia. Based on recent history between these two teams, it may be tempting to expect Texas to win, but WVU to cover. The Mountaineers always manage to make this a competitive game. WVU is also playing at home.
Will West Virginia pull off the upset on Saturday?
Texas-WVU kicks off at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC. Steve Levy, Brian Griese and Todd McShay are on the call.
