Tom Herman is set to sign a five year deal at Texas per a report.
Tom Herman has not officially been named the next head coach at Texas, but multiple reports are indicating that he will indeed be taking over.
Kirk Bohls of The Austin American-Statesman has reported that Herman will be signing a five-year deal that will pay him more than $5 million per season:
Herman was paid $3 million per season at Houston according to USA Today. With his $5 million plus salary, Herman will likely become one of the 10 highest paid college football coaches in the country. Michigan's Jim Harbaugh is the highest paid coach in the nation as he makes just over $9 million per year.
Herman coached the Cougars to a 22-4 record the last two seasons. The news will be announced later on sometime on Saturday as ESPN’s Heather Dinich was the first to report the news.
At this time Houston has not mentioned who it may hire as its next head coach.
