Here's what Tom Herman had to say.
Tom Herman's first game at Texas didn't go as planned. Maryland came into Austin and beat the Longhorns by a score of 51-41.
After the game, Herman made the following comment, via CBS Sports:
"If we all thought that we were going to come in here and in nine months sprinkle some fairy dust on this team and think that we've arrived then we're wrong."
Urban Meyer didn't take kindly to those words, and called out his former assistant coach.
"It's like a new generation of excuse. [Herman] said, 'I can't rub pixie dust on this thing.' He got a dose of reality. Maryland just scored 51 points on you."
After Thursday's practice, Tom Herman spoke with the media, who asked Herman if he'd like to respond to Urban's comments. Here's what he had to say.
Herman clearly wasn't happy his former boss called him out, although he didn't name Meyer outright in his statement.
Texas will have its hands full this weekend as quarterback Shane Buechele is battling a shoulder injury.
