People Are Not Impressed With Tom Herman's Demolition Skills

Tom Herman proved that he can really coach football during his two seasons at Houston. When it comes to demolition, however, he's not quite as strong.

Texas football is about to start a huge renovation of the locker room at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. Herman, who is entering his first season as head coach of the Longhorns, took the opportunity for some fun team building. He and his seniors took a sledgehammer to the old locker room, likely viewing the opportunity as a metaphor for the changing guard atop the program after some serious down years.

After a few minutes of wailing away, Texas did some serious damage. Herman, who took the first swings, however, left something to be desired. Granted, he wasn't dealing with any weakened walls or lockers, but based on the video, Herman really struggled to do too much damage with his swings. His first swing nearly knocked him over from recoil.

As always, Twitter noticed, and Twitter made jokes.

To Herman's credit, he was pretty self-deprecating about the whole thing afterwards.

If Herman gets the Longhorns back on track in a year or two, this will go down as a funny footnote. If Texas football continues to struggle, expect to see plenty of these gifs over the next few years. You know Oklahoma fans have them saved already.
