The Texas Longhorns were able to overcome their 6-3 start and secure a spot in the Big 12 title game against Oklahoma, but will have to make due with a less-than-healthy Sam Ehlinger.

According to ESPN writer Jake Trotter, Texas HC Tom Herman gave an injury report on Sam Ehlinger that is anything but promising.

Asked how Ehlinger's shoulder injury was doing, Herman replied, "Not great. But it hasn't been since the Baylor game."

Despite the injury, Ehlinger has not missed a game this season.

However, Ehlinger has shared passing snaps with junior QB Shane Buechele.

Buechele had most of the passes in the aforementioned Baylor game. He went 20 of 34 for 184 yards, one TD, and one INT.

He also went a perfect 10-for-10 for 89 yards and a TD against Iowa State earlier this month.

Nonetheless, Ehlinger is the decisive starter for Texas.

He has 23 TDs and only four INTs on the season, and was very efficient in the Longhorns' 48-45 win over Oklahoma earlier this year.
