What Seed Did Texas Get In The 2014 NCAA Tournament?

Seed: For the upcoming 2014 NCAA Tournament, the Texas Longhorns were given a 7-seed in the Midwest-region. They are coached by Rick Barnes and hail from the Big 12 conference.

Where: They will open play against Arizona State in Milwaukee on Thursday.

Why: UT finished the regular season with a 11-7 record in the Big 12, finishing tied for third in the conference with Iowa State. The Longhorns posted notable victories over UNC, Kansas, Kansas State, and Iowa State. Texas didn't have many bad losses this season, with the worst coming on March 8th at Texas Tech.

Ceiling: Texas is one of the nation's best rebounding teams, which makes them a matchup problem for teams who are weak on the glass. 6-foot-8 Jonathan Holmes and 6-foot-9 Cameron Ridley have logged 13 total double-doubles this season. A Sweet 16 run is certainly not out of the question.
