Story: Despite blowing a big lead in the first half, the No. 2 (No. 1 Coaches Poll) Kansas Jayhawks escaped the WVU Coliseum with a victory on Monday night. In its 'Stripe the Coliseum,' West Virginia was able to apply pressure on KU and cut the lead to two points at one time (48-46) in the second half. Despite missing 16 free throws on the night (18-of-34), the Jayhawks shot 54.1 percent from the field. With the victory, Kansas has won 18 straight games. West Virginia falls to 9-11 overall and 2-5 in the Big 12 Conference. Still, it was able to hang with one of the top powers in the country.
