Kansas is on the verge of ending West Virginia's season, but Bob Huggins didn't stick around to see how the Big 12 Tournament bout ends.

Ten minutes into Thursday's quarterfinal matchup, by which point the Jayhawks jumped out to a 19-4 lead, the Mountaineers head coach got hit with two technical fouls for arguing with officials.

Senior Taz Sherman also received a technical, giving the Jayhawks six free throws. Jalen Wilson made five of them, expanding the lead to 24-4.

The ejection made a bad situation worse for West Virginia, which lost 14 of 16 games prior to the conference tournament. At 16-16 with a 4-14 record in Big 12 play, the Mountaineers aren't likely to go dancing later this month.

Kansas maintained a 41-19 advantage through the opening half at T-Mobile Center. West Virginia's starters scored a combined two points, with the team collectively shooting 5-of-31 from the floor with seven turnovers.

If Huggins was trying to light a fire under his team, it didn't work.
