West Virginia starting pitcher Harrison Musgrave was named a finalist for National Pitcher of the Year (College Baseball Hall of Fame Pitcher of the Year Award) earlier this week.
Following a 14-strikeout performance last weekend, Musgrave also earned his second National Pitcher of the Week honors this year. In the Big 12 Conference, he earned National Pitcher of the Week for the fourth time on the season.
Musgrave was one of 22 pitchers to get a nod for National Pitcher of the Year. Alongside Oklahoma's Jonathan Gray, Musgrave was one of two Big 12 representatives.
For the season, Musgrave is 8-1 with a 2.13 ERA in 13 starts. He's pitched three complete games, three shutouts and has struck out 76 batters. Musgrave is perfect in Big 12 play (5-0), and is currently riding a seven-game winning streak. In conference play alone, Musgrave has a 1.02 ERA.
