Paul Pasqualoni Fired As Head Coach Of UConn

Heads are rolling.

Earlier: Heads are starting to roll. Over the weekend, USC fired head coach Lane Kiffin after a lackluster 3-2 start. Monday morning, UConn followed suit, letting go of both Paul Pasqualoni and offensive line coach George DeLeone, the school announced today via its website. AD Warde Manuel had this to say:

“I am making this change in our football coaching staff now as we approach the conference season to see an improved performance from our football program,” said Manuel. “I am disappointed in the record of our team thus far, but I am confident that our coaching staff and student-athletes will continue to work hard to improve and that will be reflected on the field of play as we start our American Athletic Conference season.”

UConn has yet to win a game in 2013 (0-4) and lost to Buffalo this past Saturday, 41-12. Pasqualoni's overall record in Storrs was 10-18, a hardly impressive mark. The school is set to announce his interim replacement later today.
