Report: UConn Leading Rusher Lyle McCombs Dismissed From Program

UConn football has struggled over the last few seasons, but it's hard to blame running back Lyle McCombs. The Staten Island native broke onto the scene as a freshman in 2011, compiling 1151 yards and seven touchdowns. While his statistical output has gone down over the last two seasons, much of that can be attributed to the diminished offense around him, and he has still finished the year as UConn's leading rusher for three straight seasons.

Now, it appears that McCombs will not have the chance to complete his college career in Storrs. According to reports, McCombs is no longer with the program.

Bob Diaco's first season as head coach at UConn certainly just got more difficult, with his best offensive weapon gone.
