Earlier this afternoon, Seton Hall transfer guard Sterling Gibbs vehemently denied reports he had committed to UConn, even going so far as to say he was visiting N.C. State this week. Now, he's done a 180, and has officially announced he is indeed bound for Storrs.

It only took two hours for Gibbs to change his tune. It appears he didn't like getting "scooped" about his own commitment, but he would have been better off just confirming it right away or staying silent. To declare the reports wrong and then ultimately announce he had committed to UConn was rather foolish.
No mistake about it though, this is a big pick-up for the Huskies. Gibbs is immediately eligible as a graduate transfer, and averaged 16.3 points and 3.8 assists for Seton Hall last season. He should provide an immediate boost for Kevin Ollie and company.
