For fans of college sports, one of the most exciting announcements you can read or hear is that ESPN's College GameDay football or basketball show will be coming to your school.
On Wednesday, UConn fans got that very news.
After a successful hosting in Feb. 2011 for the game against Syracuse, Connecticut-based ESPN will be making the trip from Bristol to Storrs once again for the Huskies matchup with Louisville at Gampel Pavilion. ESPN released the entire College GameDay lineup on Wednesday, and the UConn-Louisville game will be kicking things off this season.
So UConn fans killed two birds with one stone. College GameDay is back and the most important home game of the season is at Gampel Pavilion instead of XL Center or Webster Bank Arena.
The only downside to the news is that UConn will not be hosting the morning show that day. ESPN's college basketball crew will be down in Philadelphia to do its pregame show before the Temple-La Salle game at the Palestra before making the trip to Storrs for an 8 p.m. show and a 9 p.m. tip.
Regardless, the excitement about hosting College GameDay again has sent UConn students into a frenzy.
Safe to say, UConn fans are pumped, as they should be.
