Video: UConn Hangs On To Defeat Kentucky, Wins Its 4th National Championship

For the first time in this year's NCAA Tournament, Kentucky did not have all of the answers down the stretch. Instead, it was missed free throws and untimely turnovers that doomed the Wildcats, as UConn took full advantage, holding on for a 60-54 victory and its fourth national title. Shabazz Napier and Ryan Boatright combined for 36 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and six steals, as the Huskies led from start to finish Monday night. The final few seconds were frantic, but UK could not get the bucket it needed to make it a one-possession game.

The story of the game, as noted above, was missed free throws. Kentucky missed 11 from the stripe on the night, including the front end of multiple 1-and-1s down the stretch. UConn went 10-of-10 from the line, putting the game away in the game's final few minutes. Congrats to the UConn Huskies and their coach, Kevin Ollie - your 2014 national champions.
