Georgetown's men's basketball players sported "I Can't Breathe" T-shirts as they warmed up for their game against No. 10 Kansas this evening.
The T-shirts are meant to pay homage to Eric Garner, an African American male who died in Staten Island, New York, on July 17 while being held in a chokehold by a New York Police Department officer. The act was caught on video camera, but on Dec. 3, a grand jury decided not to indict the officer.
Numerous NBA players have worn the T-shirt while warming up for their games in recent days, including LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and Derrick Rose.

Georgetown is believed to be the first men's college basketball team to wear the T-shirts.
The Hoyas (5-2) are set to take on the Jayhawks (6-1) at 7 p.m. E.T. The game will be televised on FOX Sports 1.
