The major news story this morning concerns Pope Benedict XVI resigning after serving over seven years as the leader of the Catholic Church.
While it has nothing to do with college sports, Twitter users immediately made the connection between the soon-to-be ‘Catholic 7’ basketball conference and the Pope’s imminent availability.
Of course, it’s all a joke. But people really liked suggesting that the Pope should become the new commissioner.
