The 2019 NCAA Tournament field has been unveiled. Let’s take a look at one of the more intriguing matchups in the Midwest Region. It features No. 7 Wofford vs. No. 10 Seton Hall.
Preview: Wofford, ranked No. 20 in the country heading into the NCAA Tournament, finished with a 29-4 record and an incredible 18-0 record in the Southern Conference. Their only losses came to big-time programs – North Carolina, Oklahoma, Kansas and Mississippi State. The Terriers knocked off VMI, East Tennessee State and UNC Greensboro to punch their ticket to the Big Dance.
The Seton Hall Pirates have been very up-and-down this season, but when they’re on, they’re dangerous. The Pirates are making their fourth straight NCAA Tournament appearance under ninth-year head coach Kevin Willard. The Pirates are aiming to get out of the first weekend for the first time since 2000. Seton Hall has wiwns over Kentucky, Maryland, Marquette, and Villanova this season, but are 20-13 on the year, with a few losing streaks baked into a schedule with some significant victories. The Pirates fell short of taking home the Big East crown at MSG, falling to Nova 74-72 at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night. Myles Powell could be one of the most dangerous players in the entire region, averaging 22.9-points per game, with a penchant for big shots.

Prediction: Wofford is one of the best mid-majors in the country, and the committee didn’t do them a ton of favors. They’ll take on a Seton Hall team that nearly won the Big East on Saturday night.
We’re going to call for an upset here – at least technically. Wofford has no answer for Seton Hall star Myles Powell, who goes off to send the Pirates to the second round. Seton Hall by a bucket late.
