Arguably the best college basketball game of the weekend is taking place in Lawrence, as the No. 17 Villanova Wildcats are battling against the No. 1 Kansas Jayhawks.
Last year, the Wildcats defeated the Jayhawks in the Final Four. The circumstances have changed this time around though, as Kansas currently leads 33-31 over Villanova heading into halftime.
The Jayhawks are receiving major contributions from Lagerald Vick and Dedric Lawson, who are currently have 24 points combined.
Even though Kansas did struggle toward the final minutes of the first half, ESPN still believes the top team in the country will prevail.
In fact, the Jayhawks currently hold a 69.6 percent chance of winning the game.
If the Wildcats can pull off the upset at Allen Fieldhouse, then it would certainly erase the awful memories from their loss to the University of Pennsylvania earlier this week.
On the other hand, the Jayhawks could run away with this game if they can maintain possession of the ball. Before heading into the locker room, head coach Bill Self made it clear that nine turnovers in one half isn’t ideal for his roster.
The game is available on ESPN.
