Jalen Brunson was really fired up after Villanova's Big East Tournament championship win. Unfortunately, whomever is in charge of keeping FOX Sports 1 PG was asleep at the wheel.
Villanova just outlasted Providence for a Big East title. It was probably one of the best games of the season overall.
The Friars, down by as many as 12 in the second half, had a huge run in the middle of the half. The last seven minutes or so saw the two sides going back and forth, and with under a minute left, PC actually held a two-point lead.
Villanova star Jalen Brunson hit two free throws to tie the game at 60, the score that would head into overtime. Those would not the only big shots he would have down the stretch.
The two teams traded baskets over the first few minutes of overtime, with 'Nova's Mikal Bridges drilling two huge threes. Brunson followed his theatrics with a jumper to make it 70-66.
Villanova would go on to win 76-66, taking home the conference title. It cements 'Nova's upcoming No. 1 seed in the Big Dance, though that probably wasn't really in question.
Cameras followed Jalen Brunson after the buzzer sounded, and he greeted fans at home with a barrage of F-bombs.
FS1 executives couldn't have loved this. Someone really dropped the ball here.
Just a note: after a huge win, athletes might not realize they are being caught by your mic, so make sure to have the censor button ready. The fact that no one caught all of those is pretty remarkable.
Also remarkable: Brunson's game for the Wildcats. He led all scorers with 31 points on 12-of-23 shooting.
Bridges chipped in 25 on just 14 shots. They make up one of the most potent duos in college hoops, and will be very hard to knock off starting next week.
