Kacie McDonnell Officially Hired By NESN

Kacie McDonnell will be leaving Kansas City to head to the Boston area. McDonnell has landed a job with NESN.

Kacie McDonnell, who rose to fame at Philadelphia's WTXF-TV FOX 29, is one of the more notable sportscasters in the industry. Monday, it was announced that she'll be leaving NBC affiliate KSHB-TV for NESN. According to the network, she'll be part of three shows - NESN Sports Today, NESN Live and NESN Sports Update.

McDonnell also worked for Sporting Kansas City, doing both the pre-game show and the post-game show. She announced earlier this week that she's giving up that gig too. Here's the official press release from NESN:

McDonnell comes to NESN from NBC affiliate KSHB-TV in Kansas City, where she served as a morning reporter and fill-in anchor. She also was a pre- and postgame host for Major League Soccer broadcasts of Sporting Kansas City games on sister station KMCI-TV. The Villanova University graduate began her television career in Philadelphia with WTXF-TV FOX 29, where she was a pregame reporter for Philadelphia Eagles games and a morning reporter and fill-in anchor on Fox 29 “Good Day Philadelphia.”

“We are very excited to welcome an on-air personality of Kacie’s caliber to NESN’s sports news team,” said Joseph Maar, NESN’s Vice President of Programming and Production/Executive Producer. “Kacie brings an up-beat and engaging personality with a quick wit and passion for sports that should endear her to fans of New England sports.”

McDonnell, who is set to start for the network next month, has also made headlines in the past for dating both Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Aaron Murray and Kansas City Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer. That being said, she does have a solid career going herself.

McDonnell announced she'd be leaving Kansas City in a set of social media posts last week. She's a 2012 graduate of Villanova.
