What Seed Did Villanova Get In The 2014 NCAA Tournament?

Seed: For the upcoming 2014 NCAA Tournament, the Villanova Wildcats were given a 2-seed in the East-region. They are coached by Jay Wright and hail from the Big East conference.

Where: They will open play against Milwaukee in Buffalo on Thursday.

Why: Villanova finished the regular season with a 16-2 record in the Big East, winning the league's regular season title in its first year after the departure of the football schools to the ACC and new American Athletic Conference. The Wildcats posted notable victories over Kansas and Iowa in non-conference play. Unfortunately for Villanova, the team has not been tested by many quality opponents since the Battle 4 Atlantis when they picked up those two signature wins. The only tournament locks they've faced since are Syracuse, who blew them out after trailing by 18 in the first half, and Creighton, who has taken down Nova by scores of 96-68 and 101-80.

Ceiling: The Wildcats have an abundance of scorers and play tenacious perimeter defense that few teams can match. They may be vulnerable inside, but with the right matchups, this is a Final Four caliber team by most measures.
