There are a number of teams with a legitimate chance to cut down the nets as the winner of this year's NCAA Tournament.

It just doesn't seem like many people think Xavier is one of them.

It is Xavier's first time ever as a top seed. Of the four No. 1 seeds in this year's bracket, they are being most discounted.

Virginia and Villanova are regarded as prime contenders to win it all, and while Kansas isn't a popular pick to win its region (that would be Michigan State), the Jayhawks are still getting slightly more respect than the Musketeers.

Not one expert from ESPN, CBS or Sports Illustrated picked Xavier to win it all. Most don't even have them making the Final Four.

The Musketeers did win the Big East regular season championship, but were knocked off in the conference tournament semifinals by Providence. Chris Mack's crew made a surprising run to the Elite Eight last year.

As far as how Xavier will perform as one of the top seeds this year, it remains to be seen. It just doesn't seem like most experts expect much from the Musketeers.

Xavier will open up its NCAA Tournament on Friday night at 7:20 p.m. ET against the winner of NC Central and Texas Southern.
