The 2020 college football season kicked off just over a month ago for many programs around the country.

However, one of the best conferences in college football didn't take the field - until Friday night. The Wisconsin Badgers squared off against the Illinois Fighting Illini in the first Big Ten game of the season.

Big Ten fans have been waiting to see their favorite teams take the field. That wait ended for two teams on Friday night and will end for 12 others on Saturday afternoon.

A few of the biggest games of the weekend take place in the Big Ten. Ohio State enters as the heavy favorite to win the Big Ten and will square off against Nebraska this afternoon.

Later tonight, arguably the biggest game of the weekend will kick off from Minnesota as the Gophers host the Michigan Wolverines.

It's safe to say fans are excited for the Big Ten's return.

One of the team's that enters Saturday on upset alert are the No. 8 Penn State Nittany Lions. James Franklin and company travel to Indiana, which boasts a potent offense behind quarterback Michael Penix Jr.

The Hoosiers showed significant improvement during the 2019 season and could take the next step with a win today.

In the first Big Ten game of the weekend, Wisconsin routed Illinois by a final score of 45-7.
