With offers from such top colleges as Notre Dame, Penn State, and Wisconsin on his table, running back Reggie Love III has had all sorts of options available for his commitment. But the four-star back from Missouri has now made a very interesting choice for his school.
Taking to Twitter on Sunday, Love revealed that he is committing to the University of Illinois. Referring to the decision as "Change of plans," Love's post included an image of him wearing an Illini uniform and standing next to head coach Lovie Smith.
Change of PLANS
247Sports rates Love as the No. 337 overall prospect in the country. He is considered the No. 22 running back in the country, and the No. 6 prospect from the state of Missouri.
Love joins an Illinois team that has struggled for years to make headway in the Big Ten.
The Illini have not made a bowl game since 2014, and have not had a winning season since 2011.
Illinois also typically does not recruit as well as some of its Big Ten counterparts. The incoming Class of 2019 is ranked No. 13 of 14 per 247Sports.
Perhaps Love can be the game-breaking talent that can deliver Lovie Smith to his first bowl game as the Illini head coach.
