The Hoosiers and Buckeyes will start their seasons on a big stage.
The stakes for Ohio State's season-opener just got raised.
Not only are the Buckeyes traveling to a Big Ten foe (Indiana) for their first game of the season, they'll also be playing with a little bit of added pressure from ESPN.
According to Crimson Quarry, ESPN's College GameDay will reportedly be on location in Bloomington, Ind. for the Thursday night game. Rece Davis—one of the show's co-hosts—apparently leaked the news that having the first show in 2017 in Indiana was in the works on “The Bob Valvano Show” on ESPN 680 in Louisville earlier today.
This certainly isn't the first time the Buckeyes will be getting added media coverage before a game—and it definitely won't be the last—but it will add a little bit more electricity to what will already be a jittery atmosphere for both teams. It's the season opener, after all—nerves will be high.
Kickoff is set to take place on Thursday, August 31, but a time has yet to be announced. According to ESPN's FPI, the Buckeyes have a 95.7 percent chance of winning.
