Indiana Recruit James Blackmon Had Big Game In Lexington, Says He Wanted To Make Kentucky Fans Mad

When John Calipari goes after a top recruit, the prospect usually ends up playing their college basketball at Kentucky. It's not often that the Wildcats' coach pursues an elite talent and misses, but that's what happened with James Blackmon Jr.

The five-star shooting guard from Marion, Ind. committed to play for Tom Crean and Indiana, declining a scholarship offer from Calipari's program. Friday night, Blackmon was in Lexington, Ky., as his Indiana high-school all-star team took on an all-star team comprised of the top talent from the Bluegrass State. Blackmon starred, scoring 41 points in a victory. He had Kentucky fans on his mind during the contest, too.

Apparently you can't always get what you want, Wildcats' fans, no matter how great of a recruiter Calipari may be or how awesome a program Kentucky is.
