Here's Why Kevin Wilson Was Fired By Indiana

Thursday afternoon, it was reported, first by the Indy Star, that Indiana will be firing head football coach Kevin Wilson. Details are starting to emerge regarding the reasoning.

Indiana, despite putting together its second-consecutive bowl-eligible season, will reportedly fire head coach Kevin Wilson Thursday afternoon. The news comes as a shock, considering the fact that the Hoosiers seem to be moving in the right direction as a program - at least on the field.

Numerous reports suggest that Wilson's firing has to do with off-the-field issues.

ESPN's Mark Schlabach is reporting that a former Indiana player told him that he and at least five other players were interviewed about Wilson's "treatment" of players by the school last week.

Brody Miller of IDS News is reporting something very similar. A former player told him that players were forced to play through injuries.

Update: Wilson's departure is being categorized as a resignation.

In addition, Indiana has announced that Tom Allen will be the program's permanent head coach.
