Back in May, the SEC announced a significant change to its policies that involve the sale of alcoholic beverages. With more universities allowing alcohol to be sold at college football games, Bud Light is ready to capitalize on the market.
As the 2019 college football season approaches in a few weeks, Bud Light is getting ready to release custom-made cans for certain colleges.
The programs that will receive themed cans all consist of passionate fan bases when it comes to football.
According to sports business insider Darren Rovell, the college programs that will have themed cans are Alabama, Iowa, LSU, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Virginia Tech.
Only LSU has approved its logo for the Bud Light cans and packaging.
Here are how the themed cans will look:

Iowa plans on selling alcohol to patrons in the club seats for this upcoming season. However, it won’t be a privilege available to every fan inside Kinnick Stadium.
Texas Tech and Virginia Tech join Iowa as the only non-SEC programs that will have Bud Light themed cans.
Eventually, the majority of college football teams may reach the point where they’ll allow beer and wine to be sold at games. But it might take a few more years before every school makes a move of that magnitude.
