Teams across the country are hosting their biggest recruiting weekend of the summer, and it appears the Iowa Hawkeyes are already off to a hot start.

Iowa is expecting its largest recruiting weekend in 17 years. This is a tremendous opportunity for the program to build heading into the future.

Reports state that 22 recruits are visiting the program for the weekend. Tight end Luke Lachey and wide receivers Diante Vines and Kaevion Mack are among those taking the trip.

While the focus for this weekend will most likely be on 2020 recruits, the Hawkeyes wasted little time adding to their 2021 class.

Four-star offensive tackle Connor Colby recently announced that he's committing to Iowa. Despite receiving interest from programs like Michigan and Iowa State, the Cedar Rapids native is deciding to stay close to home.

Colby announced his decision on Twitter:

Colby is the No. 26 offensive tackle and No. 2 recruit from Iowa in his class.

Iowa now has two commits for its 2021 class, which ranks No. 11 in the country according to 247Sports.

As for its 2020 class, the Hawkeyes are hoping to climb up the rankings in the coming days. Head coach Kirk Ferentz has 14 commits thus far, but they rank behind Ohio State and Penn State in the Big Ten.

We'll see if the Hawkeyes can continue to add recruits this weekend.
