Former Iowa linebacker Chad Greenway will serve as an honorary captain for this Saturday's game versus Penn State, Iowa football announced in an official release.
Greenway, who played for the Hawkeyes from 2002-2005, will join Iowa's team captains during the pregame toss, and he will also be in the locker room before and after the game.
Greenway was a second-team All-American his senior season, recording 156 tackles—third most in school history. He subsequently entered the NFL drafted and was taken in the first round by the Minnesota Vikings, where he played all 11 years of his NFL career.
Iowa-Penn State is set to kick off at 7:30 p.m. E.T. and the Hawkeyes are 13-point underdogs in the matchup.
