Iowa Set Major Program Record Today

Iowa basketball is off to a 10-2 start, after this afternoon's win over Savannah State. The Hawkeyes were unconscious from three-point range today.

Iowa blasted the Tigers 110-64, and it was a true team effort. 11 different players scored, with five in double-digits.

It was a record effort for Fran McCaffery's team as well. Iowa knocked down 19 threes, a program record.

The Hawkeyes were 19-of-42 from deep, and 39-for-70 overall.

Iowa basketball star freshman Joe Weiskamp led the way with 24 points this afternoon.

He was 8-for-10 from the floor, and a lights out 5-for-7 from deep.

Jordan Bohannon (18 points), Tyler Cook (16), and Isaiah Moss (15) joined him with double digits from the starting line-up, while Riley Till chipped in 10 from the bench.

Iowa has one more non-conference game against Bryant next Saturday, before getting back to Big Ten play after the new year. While Iowa is off to a fast start overall, the Hawkeyes are 0-2 in conference games.
