Iowa football knows how to get off to a fast start, even when it kicks off to start the game.
Last week, Amani Hooker picked off J.T. Barrett on the game's first play from scrimmage for a touchdown. That score opened up what wound up being an absolute Hawkeyes rout at Kinnick Stadium, 55-24.
Today, the Hawkeyes are in Madison to face the undefeated Wisconsin Badgers, and on the opening drive, the defense did it again.
On the fourth play from scrimmage, Josh Jackson took an Alex Hornibrook pass 43 yards for a score.
Iowa did not get off to the fastest start this season, but it does have a win over the shockingly awesome Iowa State Cyclones, Ohio State, and now has an early lead on Wisconsin, perhaps the Big Ten's best shot at the College Football Playoff. That is an outsized impact on what has been a crazy college football season thus far.
Iowa at Wisconsin is being broadcast on ABC.
