Iowa had a busy recruiting weekend on its hands. The Hawkeyes closed it out with a commitment from a three-star wide receiver from the Sunshine State.

Largo (Fla.) wide receiver Quavon Matthews committed to Iowa on Sunday evening. Matthews chose the Hawkeyes over North Carolina and Southern Miss.

Matthews is the 13th pledge for Iowa in the 2020 cycle, and the second of the weekend. Three-star defensive end Yahya Black made the call for the Hawkeyes on Friday night.

Iowa's current recruiting class ranks No. 2 in the Big Ten and No. 19 in the entire country, according to 247Sports' Composite Rankings.

Matthews is the 142nd-rated senior in Florida and the 172nd-ranked wide receiver in the 2020 class.

He's the first wideout commitment for Iowa in the 2020 cycle.
