Brents is the No. 32 ranked safety in the nation, per 247 Sports.

Brents, an Indianapolis native, had offers from several other DI schools, including Cincinnati, Indiana, Louisville, Michigan State, NC State and Syracuse, but ultimately he decided Iowa was the right fit.

“It was the build up over the years,” Brents said, per 247Sports. “They’ve been recruiting me since sophomore year and I have a great relationship with the staff. Coach (Kelvin) Bell did a great job recruiting me. Coach (Phil) Parker is a great DB coach, has a history of putting guys in the league like Bob Sanders and Desmond King this past year.

“I felt with the coaching staff they got there and the history, they can get me where I want to be in the future.”

With the addition of Brents, the Hawkeyes now boast the No. 64 ranked recruiting class in the nation for 2018. They have a total of 13 commits.
