Iowa landed a commitment from a top local prospect this afternoon.

Cedar Falls three-star linebacker Jack Campbell announced his commitment to the Hawkeyes on Saturday. Campbell is the No. 6 player in the state of Iowa, according to 247Sports' Composite Rankings.

Iowa now has received commitments from four of the top eight in-state players, including the top two prospects.

Right now, the Hawkeyes have the No. 5 class in the Big Ten. Here is a look at their commitments thus far.

As for Campbell, he chose Iowa over Iowa State, Minnesota and others.

According to a scouting report from 247Sports' Allen Trieu, Campbell projects best as an outside linebacker but could transition to defensive end if he adds more size.

Campbell is the No. 72 outside linebacker in the 2019 class, per 247's Composite Rankings.
