The Iowa Hawkeyes are back in action this week following an early-season bye. They'll need to be sharp this week as they take on Conference USA's Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders.

Iowa is off to a 3-0 start thanks in large part to a huge road win over Iowa State two weeks ago. Though that game has largely become known for the controversies that occurred after it, the game was about as big a non-conference win as Kirk Ferentz could ask for.

Middle Tennessee raised some eyebrows in Week 1 when they gave Michigan fits in Ann Arbor. Though they have a 1-2 record, the Blue Raiders are still quite dangerous, and they're not incapable of springing an upset of a Power Five team. In the past three years they've upset Syracuse and Missouri as the road team.

Nevertheless, the bettors seem supremely confident in the Hawkeyes and have installed them as more than three-touchdown favorites.

Here are the details for the Iowa vs. Middle Tennessee game:

Game Time: 12:00 PM ET

Channel: ESPN2

Spread: Iowa -23.5

Over/Under: 52

Announcers: Kevin Brown, Andre Ware

Iowa certainly has an overwhelming advantage in this game, so Ferentz should probably use this game to tighten up any mistakes.

They have a trip to Michigan next week that could define their season, so they'll need to come out of this game healthy - and preferably with a win.
