Iowa held off Mississippi State in the Outback Bowl on Tuesday, ending its season with a 27-22 victory to earn its ninth win of the season. The Hawkeyes also earned a lot of people free coconut shrimp.
Each year, the Outback Bowl has a free food promotion tied to the game. If the SEC team wins, fans can get free Bloomin’ Onions at Outback Steakhouse. If the Big Ten team wins, fans can get free coconut shrimp.
For the first time in four years, it’ll be the shrimp. It’s the Big Ten’s first win in the bowl game since back in 2015 when Wisconsin took down Auburn in overtime.
Since, Tennessee, Florida and South Carolina have all won the game.

Iowa, with the win, finished the year with a 9-4 record. The victory should give the Hawkeyes plenty of momentum heading into 2019.
Mississippi State, meanwhile, finishes with an 8-5 mark. The Bulldogs will reload for another year against the SEC’s best.
