If last night’s performance was any indication of how Taulia Tagovailoa will look for the Maryland Terrapins, they’ll be in pretty good shape for years to come.
Tagovailoa was sensational on Friday night against Minnesota, as the former four-star recruit finished the game with 394 passing yards, 59 rushing yards and five total touchdowns. He legitimately willed his team to victory against the Golden Gophers.
Plenty of fans tuned in last night to see how Taulia would perform on national television. After all, his brother Tua quickly became must-see TV during his time at Alabama.
It’s safe to say Taulia didn’t disappoint those watching at home. His performance was so impressive that he became a trending topic on Twitter last night. We shouldn’t be that surprised after seeing his final stat line.

While most of Taulia’s yards came through the air, the Maryland quarterback showed off his rushing ability on a 39-yard touchdown run.

This was only the second start in Taulia’s collegiate career, which makes his performance more impressive than it already is.
According to ESPN Stats & Info, Taulia is the third Big Ten player over the last 20 seasons to have 350 passing yards, three passing touchdowns, and two rushing touchdowns in a single game. The other two quarterbacks to put up those numbers in a game were Dwayne Haskins and Zak Kustok.
The Tagovailoa family could end up having a weekend for the ages, as Tua is set to make his first NFL start tomorrow afternoon. We’ll see if he can somehow outperform Taulia.
