Maryland And Georgia Tech Basically Traded College Basketball Players

Trading players is prohibited by the NCAA, but Maryland and Georgia Tech basically made a transaction with two of their college basketball athletes.

Robert Carter, a Georgia Tech power forward, is transferring to Maryland. He'll be eligible for the 2015-16 season. Charles Mitchell, a Maryland power forward, is transferring to Georgia Tech. So, in essence, the two programs swapped players.

Who won the trade? It seems like the Terrapins did.

Carter averaged 11.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per contest for the Yellow Jackets as a sophomore, while Mitchell tallied 6.5 points and 6.3 rebounds a game as a second-year player in 2013-14.
