Maryland Star Guard Melo Trimble Is Coming Back To School

Melo Trimble is coming back to school for his junior season.

It was announced Wednesday night that the Maryland star point guard is taking his name out of the NBA Draft and returning for the 2016-17 season.

Trimble had declared for the 2016 NBA Draft but didn't hire an agent, meaning he could return to school if he wanted to. And that's what he's done.

The 6-foot-2 point guard had a tremendous freshman season but suffered a bit of a sophomore slump, as his shooting percentages dropped and he appeared less explosive.

Trimble struggled at the NBA Combine and was believed to be a potential second round pick if he was to stay in the NBA Draft.

With Trimble's return, Maryland is expected to be a top 25 team in 2016-17.
