Earlier today, upon the Big Ten Network’s announcement of six primetime night games for the upcoming 2014 college football season, we saw Rutgers officially declare its home matchup against Michigan as its annual “Blackout” affair. It looks like the other new member of the Big Ten, Maryland, will be doing the same. The Terrapins will look to “Blackout Sparty” when Michigan State comes to College Park on November 15th.

Maryland’s schedule in 2014 is one of the toughest in the nation – the Terps have a Big Ten slate that includes Ohio State, Wisconsin, Penn State, Michigan State and Michigan. They also have South Florida, Syracuse and West Virginia in the non-conference – hardly pushovers. How UM fares against the Spartans could have a lot to do with whether it finds itself bowl eligible come late November.
