Maryland added the son of an NFL legend to its program tonight.
Utah State wide receiver transfer Rayshad Lewis committed to Maryland on Monday evening, the same day he took a visit to College Park.
Lewis is the son of former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis. He doesn't have his dad's size but the name is pretty much the same.
The 5-foot-10, 165-pound wideout will have to sit out the 2017 season, but will have three years of eligibility remaining beginning in 2018.
As a true freshman, Lewis played in 12 games, making seven starts. He was second on the team in receptions (40) and receiving yards (476) and tied for second with two touchdowns. He also added 110 rushing yards and a score on the ground.
A former two-star recruit out of Orlando (Fla.) Bishop Moore Catholic, Lewis will now be suiting up in the Big Ten.
