Rutgers quarterback Noah Vedral exited today’s game against Maryland after a very questionable tackle by Terrapins defensive lineman Ami Finau.
On a third down play late in the third quarter, Vedral kept the ball and was brought down by Mosiah Nasili-Kite and Finau. Vedral stayed down after being tackled and grabbed his left ankle.
On replay, it certainly appeared that Finau, whether he meant to or not, rolled Vedral’s ankle at the bottom of the pile. The quarterback wound up limping off the field with help and was replaced on Rutgers’ next possession.
Here’s a look at the end of the play in slow motion.
How was Ami Finau *not* ejected for quite literally twisting Noah Vedral's ankle? The definition of a dirty play. pic.twitter.com/j4wdJ0k7Ec

Finau was not assessed any penalty for his hit on Vedral. We’ll see if the Nebraska transfer returns to the game at some point.
For now, Artur Sitkowski is in the game for the Scarlet Knights. Sitkowski did throw a touchdown to Isaih Pacheco on his first drive.
Maryland (2-2) currently leads Rutgers (2-5) 17-14 early in the fourth quarter. You can watch the game on BTN.
