Julian Barnett, a four-star wide receiver/cornerback in the class of 2019, made an early pledge to Michigan State this morning.

Julian Barnett is the No. 60 overall player in the class, per 247Sports. As a cornerback, he is ranked No. 3 in the class, and No. 2 in the state of Michigan.

Today, he became the third player to join Michigan State's 2019 recruiting class.

Barnett made the announcement this morning.

Barnett has a host of other big offers, including Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, and others.

Michigan State is off to a fast start in the 2019 recruiting cycle. All three members of the class are four-star players. Barnett joins offensive tackle Spencer Brown and quarterback Dwan Mathis.

To make things even better for Sparty, this commitment could give the program a big leg-up on 2019 five-star offensive tackle Devontae Dobbs. Barnett spoke about recruiting his high school teammate with 247Sports.

The Spartans just signed his teammate, cornerback Davion Williams in the 2018 class, a fellow four-star.

"I haven't told him yet," Barnett said laughing. "He's going to say something soon because he kept telling me Michigan State is where I needed to be."

Now both turn their attention to highly-ranked teammate Devontae Dobbs, one of the nation's top offensive linemen.

"Yeah, Dobbs is next," Barnett said. "He's got to be next. It's only right."

Michigan State doesn't always recruit at this high a level. This could be a banner group for Mark Dantonio's staff.
